Dr. Vimmi Thakkar PT, DPT, Cert MDT, CMTPT

Founder & Doctor of Physical Therapy

Dr. Thakkar completed her undergraduate work at The Ohio State University where she then moved to New Jersey to pursue her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Rutgers University. After obtaining her doctoral degree, she moved to Chicago and obtained over a decade of experience working at the #1 rehabilitation hospital in the country. She has extensive experience treating patients with both orthopedic and neurological conditions and utilizes the Pain Mechanism Classification System to classify pain and target treatments based on evidence based research. She is a certified MDT therapist from The McKenzie Institute, certified running gait analyst, certified myofascial trigger point therapist (CMTPT) and specializes in orthopedic rehabilitation. She also treats neurologic diagnoses, addressing balance impairments, strength deficits and gait deficits.

Dr. Thakkar’s favorite pastimes include spending time with her family and friends, traveling the world, philosophy, hiking, dancing.
